Surfside 7’s Tournament, located in Avalon, New Jersey

The Surfside 7’s Tournament has become a Kutztown tradition. The players get to meet the coaches and one another. They have always been skilled enough to bring home a trophy each year – a true reflection of our attention to detail as we continue to recruit only the best players from across the nation.

This year’s group represents Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New York and New Jersey. It is an excellent tribute to their athletic ability and rugby skills. You understand these players meet one another for the very first time, about thirty minutes prior to their first kickoff. Since they are only out of their high school’s hallowed halls for approximately four or five weeks, we still treat them with the respect deserving of a group of young men wearing the Kutztown jersey. It is a thrill to see their faces when they pull the Kutztown jumper over their head for the very first time – and certainly not their last. Excitement is in the air with another outstanding Golden Bear Rugby freshmen class.
